Dr. CAROL BILLINGSLEY

A 4th-generation chiropractor

Dr. Carol Billingsley is a 4th-generation chiropractor whose skillful chiropractic adjustments have been the impetus of healing for thousands of people during 30 years in private practice in Conyers-Covington, GA. Her keen insight into how to revitalize the body and her great love for others has drawn people to Georgia from all over the world to receive her expert and unique care; and she also provides fly-out service for those who cannot come to her.

Dr. Billingsley is also known as an excellent teacher and speaker who engages a wide variety of audiences while she educates them about true health and well-being.

Dr. Billingsley grew up around and was personally educated and mentored by some of the greatest minds in the fields of chiropractic, psychology, personal development and the mind-body-spirit connection. From her youth, Dr. Billingsley knew that she possessed a gift of healing, and that by placing her hands on people, they would get well. These influential leaders expanded Dr. Billingsley’s personal vision to help as many people as she could to experience health in their bodies, reach their full potential and succeed in life.

It was the dynamic Dr. Sid Williams, founder of Life University, the largest chiropractic college in the world, who drew Dr. Billingsley into chiropractic as the optimum pathway to heal and serve others. In 1980, she earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University. Dr. Clay Thompson, the originator of the Thompson-Palmer technique and tables, taught Dr. Billingsley the art of delivering the most effective chiropractic adjustments. A natural and gifted practitioner of this technique, she taught it to hundreds of chiropractic students in a highly acclaimed class at Life University.

As with her education in chiropractic, Dr. Billingsley’s spiritual and personal growth was nurtured along by legendary leaders as well. Among them is Dr. Bob Proctor, founder of the modern science of success and of The Secret fame. Dr. Proctor referred people to Dr. Billingsley for care, and also recommended that she study under Patricia Hayes, whose pioneering work trained millions that right-brain development of spiritual consciousness was possible. Tapping once again into a natural talent, Dr. Billingsley quickly mastered Ms. Hayes’ concepts and turned around to teach them to others, holding 2-1/2 day conferences in New York and Toronto, where one of the attendees was Mary Ann Luckett. Together they founded the Billingsley-Luckett Chiropractic Life Center in 1985.

Another influential mentor was Uell Stanley Andersen, an unforgettable lecturer and the author of Three Magic Words: The Key to Power, Peace and Plenty, who summarized the psychology of winning as learning to create instead of compete.
In all of these, Dr. Billingsley’s most cherished quality is love, which she received as a gift upon her mother’s passing. “Love is an energy that connects us to each other,” Dr. Billingsley explains, “and I really like to be connected.”

Her love manifests in a variety of ways in the community. For example, in response to a shooting at a local high school in Conyers, Dr. Billingsley and Dr. Luckett conceived a powerful program for 6th graders called Welcoming the Differences, that dissolves the isolation of loners that often precedes an attack.

In addition, Dr. Billingsley volunteered at a local middle school for 10 years, and as a mentor for children at risk and as a foster parent, opening her home to many children since 2000. She is an adoptive parent to three children, a grown daughter and two young sons. She is also a great lover of animals and often shelters them too.

Less known is that Dr. Billingsley majored in English at the University of Florida, and carries a deep and abiding love for art, literature and especially poetry. The next time you’re in for an adjustment, ask her to recite a poem; then watch her eyes light up and prepare to be inspired and transported along with her to another dimension.
